Space, the Final Frontier

Updated: May 25, 2021

Good morning. It is Tuesday, April 13, 2021.

I am reading a book title "3:16, The Numbers of Hope". It's by Max Lucado, one of my favorite authors.

I was first introduced to Mr. Lacado, many years ago and at a low point in my life. I was given the book "And the Angels Were Silent"...just WOW!!!! It really was life-altering for me. I had holed myself up in a motel room for two days. No TV, no other person, just me and the book. I laughed, I cried, and I prayed. It was a very special weekend. I highly recommend it.

I ordered this book about a month ago and I want to share a portion of that book with you today because it really does remind us of what an awesome Creator we serve. In this particular chapter he quotes statistics from NASA.

I am going to sum up what he writes. Suppose you attempt to drive to the sun traveling 150 miles per hour. You drive nonstop, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Any guess how long it will take you? The answer is 70 years!

Now suppose you want to continue that journey to Alpha Centauri which is the next closest star system. You will need 15 million years to make that trip!

Is your mind racing yet??

Let's say you take a jet instead and travel at 600 miles per hour. In 16.5 days you will reach the moon, in 17 years you will pass the sun and in 680 years you can enjoy dinner on Pluto. After seven centuries you have not even left our solar system, much less our galaxy. Our universe screams of a Creator!

Amos 5:8 "He who made the Pleiades and Orion, who turns midnight into dawn and darkens day into night, who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out over the face of the land- the LORD is his name."

A house implies a builder; a painting suggests a painter. Don't stars suggest a star maker?

Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God." Psalm 97:6 "The heavens declare His righteousness."

Have you ever seen any of Louie Gigleo's DVD's? They are fantastic! Nothing I have ever watched made me feel so small. Not small as in does not matter or insignificant, but small as in a universe filled with wonder that Jehovah Elohim (The eternal Creator) allowed me, little ol' me, to be a part of it!

I am putting a link here for easy connection. He has several DVD's but this one, How Great is Our God, is one of my favorites.

Psalm 8:3,4 "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?"

I hope you too can contemplate how important you are. How much God loves you and wants to share eternity with you.

Can you imagine time stretching our forever and ever? I place and time where we can explore not just this universe and galaxy, but all the others that He has created? It boggles my mind, but I love to think about it.

Jesus is coming soon. Are you ready to meet Him? Have you given your heart to Him? If no, why not do that today! Let Him in.

Genesis 1:14 "And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years."
