Faith Is The Key

Updated: May 20, 2021

From Thursday, February 25, 2021.

It's a bit cloudy today but a beautiful day none the less. My husband used to say any day you can get up and get dressed is a good day.

Did you know the word Faith appears 336 times in the King James Version? I also have the New International Version and according to my search this morning, the word Faith appears 458 times in that particular version! I love this!

I believe more than any other 'action', faith is key to our belief of, and our relationship with, our Heavenly Father, with His Son Jesus Christ and yes, the Holy Spirit.

Hebrews 11:6 says it best "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."

This text brings me such comfort because I have always had a very strong faith. The Bible doesn't say without obedience it is impossible to please God. It doesn't say without sin it is impossible to please Him. It doesn't say without works it is impossible to please God. It doesn't say without church attendance (although that is very important in my book!) It says without 'faith' it is impossible to please God.

Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God."

I read it like this:

God's grace + my faith = salvation.

What a wonderful gift!

2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

How many times during the trials of your life have you been able to see the outcome? If I were to answer that question I would say "rarely to never" but that is the beauty of walking with God. You do not need to see the outcome, you need only to have the faith that God loves you and will take care of you and the situation. Sometimes the thing I am dealing with seems impossible, but I give it to God and trust Him to work on my behalf.

I will leave you with Jeremiah 17:7,8 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Friend, be like a tree planted by the water. Trust God's faithfulness. Sink your roots deep into the "living water" and live!

Have a blessed day and remember: keep looking up! Jesus is coming soon!
